Travel of the Ambassador in the Littoral and South-West Region from 21 to 24 November 2016
HE Mr. Gilles Thibault, Ambassador of France to Cameroon visited Douala, Buea, Limbe and Njombe from 21st to 24 November 2016.
Initially visiting Douala, the Ambassador had the opportunity to meet with some representatives of French companies in Cameroon before going in the afternoon of November 22 at the Salon for the Promotion of French Studies (SAPEF), where he attended the launch ceremony of the 5th edition. The event organized by Campus France and the French Institute in Cameroon was held in the city of Douala from 22 to 24 November.
The visit of the Ambassador continued in Buea, where he met with Governor Mr. Bilai Okalia before meeting with the Mayor of the city Mr. Patrick Ekema. At the end of the day, the Ambassador went to the SONARA school of the Secular mission in Limbe, where more than 500 students attended. He was able to talk with the students and the staff before going to meet some French people settled in the locality.
On November 23, the Ambassador visited the SONARA refinery currently being modernized and the Plantations of High Penja (PHP) before going to the hospital of the order of Malta in Njombe. The next day, his visit to the region ended with the visit of the banana plantations.
