About the Yaoundé Agency ...
In 2016, AFD financing in Cameroon reached FCFA 145 billion, +7% from 2015. The projects supported by the AFD concern the development of infrastructures, access to essential service, sustainable cities, family farming, and support for job-creating enterprises. Strengthening human capital through education, vocational training, social protection and health are other key areas of intervention.
AFD’s actions in Cameroon carry concrete impacts. In 2016, ongoing projects enabled:
(i) The construction of the bridge over the Wouri, the eastern and western accesses of Douala, the Lom Pangar dam, the deep water port of Kribi, the rehabilitation of the towns of Garoua, Bertoua, Bafoussam, Douala airport, rainwater drainage in the cities of Douala and Yaoundé, drinking water in the cities of Yaoundé, Bertoua, Edea and Ngaoundere),
(ii) construction and rehabilitation of approximately 700 classrooms;
(iii) the distribution of 35,000 health checks;
(iv) supporting the development of more than 150 small enterprises;
(v) Training of over 1,000 agropastoral entrepreneurs; and
(vi) supporting 200,000 family farms.
