Internship on negotiation in case of hostage-taking (Oct. 10-14th, 2016)
The Internal Security Service (ISS) of the Embassy of France to Yaoundé coordinated an internship regarding initiation to negotiation in case of hostage-taking for 4 policemen and 3 gendarmes at the judiciary police management in Yaoundé from October 10th to 14th, 2016.
Financed by the Crisis Center of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the intership was facilitated, among others, by Principal Police Officer Guy Michel MONTHE in office at the General Delegation for National Security (DGSN). He acquired his expertise in the field thanks to the French cooperation, which selected him twice to attend high-level internships in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and Lomé (Togo) organized by the GIGN and Research, Assistance, Intervention, Dissuasion (RAID).
This internship falls within France’s support to Cameroon in the area of internal security and more particularly in the fight against terrorism, and illustrates a successful expertise transmission in a sensitive domain.
