French Institutes

Presentation

Cameroon has two French Institutes of Cameroon (IFC) in Douala and Yaoundé. The objectives of the IFCs are to promote French and Francophone cultures, as well as the Cameroonian artistic activities. These cultural centers have different thematic spaces as libraries, press rooms, auditoriums, which allow the organization of various events as conferences, concerts or exhibitions. Both IFCs are attached to the French state services under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The supervision is made by the cultural service, and the centers enjoy financial independence.
