Call for projects: AFD Digital Challenge [fr]
The AFD, the French Development Agency, has launched a call for projects aiming at supporting digital solutions that promote the development of inclusive and sustainable cities in Africa, including Cameroon. Applications are open until 18 November 2019.
The French Development Agency (AFD) supports startups, associations, and research centers that are developing a digital solution that promotes the development of inclusive and sustainable cities in Africa, including Cameroon.
To be eligible, the solutions must fall under the following categories:
- Creation of quality urban services: The development of digital tools that focus on creating or improving sustainable and efficient public services.
- Urban planning for the most vulnerable: The use of digital technology to improve the knowledge of the city, facilitate the local decision making and improve the risk and disaster management.
- Stimulation of local economic development: The development of digital services that stimulates local economic activity.
- Improving the relationship between the citizens and local authorities: Use of digital technology to improve exchanges between local authorities and citizens.
The 10 winners will be supported with a €20,000 fund (over 13 million Francs), international visibility and a tailor-made support programme.
